Welcome to summer!

 

This summer the TWC is inviting you to LIVE BY CHOICE and share with us what you are up to and how Pilates has been an impact on what's now possible for you in your life, and I promise to do the same.

 

At the start of 2014, I made the commitment to myself that I would take on adventure, fun and be courageous.  So far this year has delivered it all. 

 

Last month I took a mountain bike course with the Trek Dirt Series.  If you want to improve your biking skills this is the program.  From beginner-beginner to double black diamond there is something for everyone.  Courses are held at Whistler.  There are women only camps and co-ed camps.  www.dirtseries.com

 

This July 1st, I celebrated Canada Day with the Grouse Grind and.....drum roll please...paragliding down!  Put this on your bucket list!  Not only is it completely easy and safe, it is relaxing and truly the most fun you will ever have.

 

The company is Northshore Paragliding.  They take off from the top of Grouse Mountain, just off the Peak Chair, and land at the Cleveland Dam by Capilano Road.  They have a van that brings you back to your car at the mountain.  As you can see in the picture, I am strapped right in and sitting comfy and relaxed with my pilot Kaid fully in charge.

I met with the Pilots later that day and learned about their life as paragliders and their training.  These are the best pilots in the world.  For more information and to book, go to www.northshoreparagliding.com .  When you meet your Pilot, tell them "hi" from Linda. :)

 

Pilates and dedication to movement makes all of this possible for me.  It makes me strong all over.  Pilates addresses muscular imbalances, stretches tight areas and improves mobility and agility.  Pilates is the perfect form of exercise to get strong for what you are up to and to recover from a day of play. 

 

I was having issues with my legs while running at one point and committed to doing footwork on the reformer every day.  I am no longer plagued by cramping quads and can enjoy doing the Grind with my boys or running in the trails.  Thank-you Joseph Pilates!

Summer session at the TWC is underway and it is so great to see everyone in the Studio.  I acknowledge you for your commitment to your health and wellbeing.  Summer is the time to ramp it up and get stronger than ever before.  There is just too much fun to be had  this season that strong legs, a healthy back and stable core will be required.
